1. General presentation

Civil Engineering Laboratory Management is a complete ERP solution, integrated with Dolibarr ERP/CRM, dedicated to laboratories for the control and testing of construction materials. The module covers the entire activity cycle of a civil engineering laboratory: from receiving test requests to producing technical reports and invoicing, including the management of sampling, samples, laboratory and in-situ testing, equipment, technicians, certifications, and quality control.

Designed to be professional, modern, secure, and multi-entity, the module is based on an extensible architecture and a next-generation decision-making dashboard. It is published and distributed exclusively by DoliResources (www.doliresources.com).

3. Functional Architecture

The module is structured around 13 interconnected business objects, with the Project acting as a central hub. Each object has filterable lists (with column selectors), detailed records, and status tracking.

All tables include the standard Dolibarr fields: entity (multi-company), date_creation, tms, fk_user_creat, fk_user_modif and status.

4. Detailed Features

4.1 Projects — the central cockpit

The project sheet transforms into a true cockpit: a bar displaying indicators (number of requests, samples, trials, reports, trial value, budget), a compliance rate bar, and a grid of linked modules with live counters and "+" buttons for quick creation that pre-fill the project. The project is linked to the Third Party (client) module and the Projects module of Dolibarr.

·       Reference, client, location, market, project owner / project manager, engineering firm, company.

·       Start/end dates, budget, project manager.

·       Children's tabs: requests, samples, trials, results, field trials, quality, documents, reports.

4.2 Test requests

Complete management of the request cycle: receipt, priority, due date, responsible party, then statuses Received → Planned → In progress → Completed → Delivered → Invoiced.

4.3 Samples

For each sample: reference, type of material, project, date of sampling, sampler, location, GPS coordinates and quantity, with complete history.

4.4 Laboratory tests and results

Test catalog by category (standard, method, duration, price, unit). Each result records the measured value, the target value, the minimum/maximum tolerances, and the conformity verdict (compliant/non-compliant/pending). Non-conformities are automatically fed into the quality control system.

4.5 Field trials and planning

On-site interventions include test type, location, GPS coordinates, assigned technician, and vehicle. The schedule offers Day/Week/Month views to visualize interventions and their status.

4.6 Technical Reports

Report generation (test report, summary note, compliance report, expert report) with analysis, conclusion, signatory, and validation workflow (Draft → To be validated → Validated / Rejected → Delivered). PDF and Word export.

4.7 Technicians, equipment, maintenance and certifications

·       Technicians: skills, certifications, availability, workload (link Users/HR).

·       Equipment: machines, devices, vehicles; condition, date of acquisition, calibration and next calibration.

·       Maintenance: preventive, corrective and calibration, with costs, service providers and deadlines.

·       Certifications: ISO, accreditations, approvals, with tracking of expiry dates and alerts.

4.8 Quality Control

Management of non-conformities, complaints, corrective and preventive actions, with severity (minor / major / critical), date of detection, action plan and closure.

4.9 Billing

From the billing center, the module automatically generates a native Dolibarr invoice from the (not yet invoiced) trials of a project: one line per trial, with the VAT rate configured. Direct integration with the Quotes, Orders, and Invoices modules.

4.10 Documents (EDM)

Specialized and versioned document management system: reports, certificates, photos, plans, calculation notes, linked to projects.

6. Dolibarr Integration

The module connects to Dolibarr's native components:

·       Third parties (clients: organizations, partner laboratories, engineering firms, inspection offices, construction companies).

·       Products/Services, Quotes, Orders, Invoices.

·       Projects and Tasks, Users / HR, Documents (DMS) and Calendar.

·       Automatic creation of invoices from the tests performed.

·       Tabs added to the Third Party record and the Project record.

7. User Profiles and Rights

The module offers granular access rights (Read, Create/Modify, Delete, Validate) for each domain, plus administrative rights. Read and Create/Modify rights are granted by default upon activation for immediate use.

8. Demonstration data, security, and multi-entity

·       Realistic demo game installed on first activation (clients, projects, samples, trials, results, reports, technicians, equipment, certifications…).

·       "Install" and "Delete" buttons for demonstration data from the settings, with confirmation.

·       Versioned dataset: automatic refresh on demonstration platform, real data preserved on a production installation.

·       Multi-entity: complete separation of data by company (entity field).

·       Security: CSRF tokens, access control on each page, systematic escaping of outputs.

9. Extensible architecture (future versions)
