Livestock Farm Management turns Dolibarr into a specialised ERP for livestock and breeding farms. It covers cattle, sheep, goats, camelids, poultry, pigs, rabbits, fish farming, beekeeping and mixed farms, handling the whole business cycle without any external software.

Architecture

·       20 business objects driven by a generic engine (list / card / search / column selector), each with its own SQL table (llx_lfm_*).

·       A schema self-healing routine adds any missing column on upgrade (ensureSchema).

·       Hooks and a trigger class (COMPANY_DELETE, USER_DELETE, BILL/ORDER_VALIDATE) keep data consistent with native Dolibarr.

·       A daily cron automation engine evaluates alert rules (LfmRunAutomations).

·       Responsive, secured, permission-gated pages; optimised SQL queries; five languages (FR, EN, IT, DE, ES).

2. Business Workflow

Animal acquisition  ->  Identification  ->  Herd assignment  ->  Health monitoring  ->  Feeding  ->  Reproduction  ->  Births  ->  Growth  ->  Production  ->  Sale  ->  Exit from the farm.

Each stage is materialised by a dedicated object and connected to the others through foreign keys, so an animal's full history (care, feeding, reproduction, production, sales) is always available from its card.

4. Detailed Functionalities

Dashboard

Livestock cockpit: priority alert tiles (vaccinations due, treatments ending, sick animals, expected births, low feed stock, maintenance due), KPI zones (livestock, health & reproduction, production, finance, stock & feeding) and dynamic charts (species distribution, births per month, production per month, reproduction cycle).

Farms

Farm holdings with manager, address, surface, number of buildings, capacity, farm type, certifications and owner (native third party). The farm card aggregates its herds and animals.

Herds

Multi-herd management by species and breed, with location (building), headcount, category and manager. Supports transfers, grouping and history.

Animals

Complete animal record: ID number, electronic ear tag (RFID), species, breed, sex, birth date, origin, herd, genealogy (mother/father), weight, value and status, with full care/reproduction/production history.

Breeds

Breed reference per species with origin country, aptitude (milk/meat/mixed), average weight and gestation length.

Reproduction & cycle

Full reproduction cycle with a drag-and-drop Kanban board (heat, breeding/AI, gestation, birth, weaning, failed). Heat, breeding, gestation-check and expected-birth dates are tracked; stage changes are saved live via AJAX.

Births

Birth declaration linked to the reproduction cycle and dam: number born/alive, sex, birth weight, and the registered animal for traceability.

Health

Disease and symptom tracking, severity, health status (sick/quarantine/recovered), detection and recovery dates, veterinarian and cost.

Vaccinations

Vaccination campaigns with vaccine, dose, vaccination and recall dates; due recalls feed the dashboard alerts and planning.

Treatments

Medical treatments with medication, dose, frequency, duration, withdrawal period, start/end dates and cost.

Veterinary

Veterinary visits with reason, diagnosis, prescription, certificate and cost.

Feeding & feed stocks

Feeding rations per herd and feed stocks (feed, forage, supplements, medicines) with minimum stock, unit price, supplier, expiry date and storage; connected to native Dolibarr products with low-stock/expiry alerts.

Productions

Multi-species production (milk, meat, eggs, wool, honey, fish, breeders) with quantity, quality, yield, unit price and total value; automatic computations.

Sales & invoicing

Sales of animals, milk, meat, eggs and breeders. Native Dolibarr quotes, orders and invoices are generated in one click from a sale, with the linked document id stored back.

Purchases

Purchases of feed, medicines, equipment and animals, connected to native suppliers.

Equipment & maintenance

Machinery park (tractors, trailers, milking robots, equipment) with hours counter, acquisition value and status, plus maintenance, breakdowns and cost tracking.

Planning

Global operations timeline over -7/+60 days: vaccinations, veterinary visits, expected births, treatment ends and maintenance.

Reporting

Reporting suite: technical (herds, reproduction, health, mortality), production, commercial (sales, purchases) and financial (costs, margins) reports, exportable to PDF, Excel, CSV and print.

Automations

Rule engine for automatic alerts (low feed stock, expiring feed, vaccination recalls, maintenance due, withdrawal, reproduction closing), run on schedule (cron) or on demand.

Configuration & demo data

Module parameters (currency, default species, units) and one-click Create / Delete demonstration data buttons.

Every commercial operation reuses native Dolibarr objects, so accounting, banking and reporting stay unified:

7. Administrator Guide

·       Copy the livestockfarmmanagement/ folder into htdocs/custom/.

·       Enable the module from Home > Setup > Modules (Products family).

·       Open the module Setup page to configure parameters and install the demonstration dataset.

·       Grant the relevant permission groups to each user or group.

·       Optionally enable the daily automation cron job (LfmRunAutomations) from the Scheduled jobs module.

·       Use Create / Delete demo data at any time; the demo set is fully purgeable and never touches your real data.
