Marble Production Management - Dolibarr

Marble Production Management transforms Dolibarr into a dedicated ERP / GPAO-MES (Manufacturing Execution System) solution for companies specialised in marble and natural-stone production. It covers the entire industrial cycle inside Dolibarr, with no external software required: from quarry sourcing and raw-block reception, through sawing, cutting, shaping, polishing and finishing, to the manufacture, quality control, stocking and shipment of finished products such as slabs, tiles, worktops, stairs, cladding and bespoke pieces.

The module is built on the same generic industrial engine as other DoliResources GPAO modules and follows the official Dolibarr architecture (objects extending CommonObject, permissions, menus, hooks, triggers, cron jobs, multilingual system and MultiCompany support). Rather than duplicating native functionality, it enriches and links to the standard Dolibarr objects it needs.

The goal of the module is to let a marble production company run all of its activities directly from Dolibarr, turning it into a true production-management tool for the marble industry. It targets companies involved in:

·       Marble extraction and import of raw blocks

·       Sawing, cutting and shaping

·       Polishing and surface finishing

·       Manufacture of slabs, tiles, worktops, stairs, cladding

·       Production of bespoke / made-to-measure stone pieces

3.1  Quarries & Origin Tracking

Record the origin of every batch of stone and qualify each quarry.

·       Quarry file with supplier (linked to native Third parties), country and region;

·       Marble type, colour, veining and quality grade;

·       Estimated reserves (m³) and transport distance (km);

·       Full origin traceability feeding each block and finished product.

3.2  Raw Marble Blocks

Manage and trace every raw block from reception to consumption.

·       Dimensions (length × width × height), computed volume (m³), weight (t) and density;

·       Marble type, colour, veining and quality grade;

·       Physical location, barcode and QR code for shop-floor identification;

·       Purchase price, origin quarry and supplier;

·       Block status: in stock, reserved, in production, consumed;

·       Arrival date and complete movement history.

3.3  Manufacturing Orders (MO)

The heart of the module: a full production workflow with industrial costing.

·       Consumed block, product to make, workshop and client;

·       Link to a native Dolibarr customer order and project;

·       Quantities, input volume (m³) and output area (m²) with automatic material yield;

·       Production phase workflow: to launch → planned → sawing → cutting → polishing → finishing → control → done;

·       Progress percentage and priority;

·       Industrial costing: material, labour, machine and overhead costs, sale price and margin;

·       Planned vs. real start / end dates.

3.4  Production Steps / Process

Break each manufacturing order into detailed operations.

·       Step types: sawing, cutting, CNC machining, polishing, finishing, chamfering, drilling, engraving, control, packing;

·       Assigned machine and operator, sequence and duration;

·       Input / output / scrap quantities and per-step yield;

·       Per-step machine cost and status.

3.5  Finished Products

A dedicated catalogue of marble products linked to native Dolibarr Products.

·       Product types: slabs, tiles, worktops, stairs, cladding, bespoke pieces;

·       Marble type, colour and finish type;

·       Dimensions (length × width × thickness) and area (m²);

·       Unit cost, sale price, stock quantity and packaging;

·       Finish-type reference list (polished, honed, flamed, brushed, bush-hammered, aged).

3.6  Machine Park & Maintenance

Monitor the shop-floor equipment and its upkeep.

·       Machine types: saws, block cutters, CNC, polishers, overhead cranes;

·       Brand, model, serial number and power (kW);

·       Availability and utilization rates, run and stop hours, current state;

·       Preventive and corrective maintenance with planned / done / next dates, technician, cost and downtime.

3.7  Operators

Manage the production workforce, linked to native Dolibarr users.

·       Qualification, assigned workshop and shift;

·       Productivity rate and hours worked;

·       Contribution tracked through the production steps they perform.

3.8  Quality Control & Non-Conformities

Guarantee product quality at every stage.

·       Quality controls on orders, blocks and products with conforming / non-conforming result and score;

·       Number of pieces checked, OK / KO counts, cracks and defects detected, tolerance (mm) and controller;

·       Non-conformities with type, severity, impacted quantity, cost impact, corrective action, responsible and status.

An automation engine, driven by a daily Dolibarr scheduled job (cron), applies active rules and computes the industrial alerts shown on the dashboard: closing completed manufacturing orders, recomputing progress, and flagging late orders, low stock, machine breakdowns, critical non-conformities and maintenance due. Rules can also be run on demand from the Automations page.
