1. Overview

VetClinic Management (technical name: vetclinic) turns Dolibarr into a complete vertical business solution dedicated to veterinary structures — clinics, practices and multi-service centres. It covers the entire journey of the animal patient and its owner, from the first appointment to invoicing, without any external software.

Editor: DoliResources (https://www.doliresources.com). Compatible with Dolibarr v16 to v23. Available in French, English, Italian, German and Spanish.

2. Features

2.1 Owners and animals

·       Owners (clients): full profile, contact details, profession, linked to the native Dolibarr Third-parties module.

·       Animal patients: species, breed, sex, birth date with automatic age, colour, weight, identification (microchip, tattoo), blood group, allergies, chronic diseases, medical history, diet and observations.

2.2 Medical management

·       Consultations: reason, symptoms, clinical exam, diagnosis, exams performed, prescription, recommendations, weight and temperature.

·       Medical files: reports, prescriptions, health booklet, certificates, radiographs and analyses attached to each animal.

·       Vaccinations: valences, vaccination and booster dates, automatic renewal reminders.

·       Treatments: medication, dosage, frequency, duration and instructions.

·       Surgery: intervention type, anaesthesia, materials and medications used, surgery report and post-operative follow-up.

·       Hospitalization: admission, cage/box, daily care and monitoring, automatic computation of the number of days and stay cost.

·       Analyses: type, sample, laboratory, results and attachments.

2.3 Appointments and agenda

·       Appointment management with type, duration, room and status (planned, confirmed, done, cancelled).

·       Weekly veterinary agenda with colour-coded status.

2.4 Pharmacy, stock and suppliers

·       Veterinary pharmacy: medications, vaccines and consumables linked to native Dolibarr products.

·       Stock lots with manufacturing and expiry dates, warehouse quantities.

·       Automatic alerts for low stock and near/expired products.

·       Suppliers and clinic staff (veterinarians, assistants, receptionists, technicians).

2.5 Commercial, financial and reporting

·       Quotes and invoicing through the native Dolibarr commercial modules, with payment and unpaid tracking.

·       Modern dashboard with KPIs and charts (consultation trend, species distribution).

·       Reporting suite (12 reports) with CSV, Excel and PDF exports and printing.

·       Daily cron job scanning appointments, vaccinations and stock to generate alerts.

3. Architecture

The module follows the standard Dolibarr MVC architecture and conventions:

·       CommonObject-based classes for all 15 business objects (owner, animal, appointment, consultation, medical file, vaccination, treatment, surgery, hospitalization, analysis, supplier, pharmacy product, stock lot, staff, alert).

·       Per-domain permissions, menus (top + left), extrafields, hooks and business triggers.

·       Automatic schema self-healing on upgrade, and a versioned demonstration dataset generator.

·       Dedicated graphic charter (medical green / health blue / white) and FontAwesome icons.

·       Tables prefixed llx_vet_; module numero 511500; native links to Product, Third-party, User and Warehouse.

4. Installation

·       Copy the vetclinic/ folder into htdocs/custom/ of your Dolibarr installation.

·       Log in as administrator and open Home → Setup → Modules/Applications.

·       Find 'Gestion Vétérinaire' / 'Vet Clinic Management' and enable it.

·       A realistic demonstration dataset is installed on first activation.

·       Configure the module from Setup → Vet Clinic Management (thresholds, default vet, demo data buttons).

Dashboard

Real-time overview of the clinic: daily activity, revenue, charts and alerts.

Animals

Central patient repository with advanced search; each row opens the full animal record.

Animal record

Summary header (species, age, weight), full sanitary data and a 'Related interfaces' panel to create linked records in one click.

Consultations

Full medical record: symptoms, clinical exam, diagnosis, prescription and recommendations. 

Agenda

Weekly appointment planner, navigable week by week.

Vaccinations

Vaccination tracking with booster dates and automatic reminders.

Pharmacy

Medications, vaccines and consumables linked to Dolibarr stock, with low-stock and expiry alerts.

Reporting

Medical, financial and management reports with CSV/Excel/PDF export.
